Boswellia with curcumin, magnesium glycinate, and a neem, turmeric and black pepper tablet. Boswellia serrata — shallaki in Sanskrit, Indian frankincense in English — is the herb the Ayurvedic tradition pairs with turmeric more often than any other.

How to take it, day to day
Morning
- Boswellia and Curcumin — 1 capsule with breakfast, with food that has some fat in it.
- Neem, Turmeric and Black Pepper — 1 tablet with breakfast.
Evening
- Boswellia and Curcumin — 1 capsule with your evening meal, if you are taking two a day.
- Magnesium Glycinate — 1 capsule about an hour before bed.
Timing conventions in Ayurveda are conventions, not rules. The single thing that matters most is taking it at the same time each day, because that is the routine you will actually keep. Always follow the recommended daily portion printed on each individual pack, and never exceed it.
Your 90-day course
We have written this kit as a course rather than a pile of bottles. The point of adding products one at a time is simple: if something does not agree with you, you know exactly which one it was.
- Days 1 to 7 — boswellia and curcumin only, once a day. One capsule with breakfast, taken with some fat. Both compounds are fat-soluble.
- Days 8 to 21 — add the magnesium in the evening. One capsule an hour before bed.
- Days 22 to 90 — add the neem tablet, and consider going to two boswellia a day. Check the pack for the stated daily portion and do not exceed it.
- Day 90 — review. This is a slow category. Judge it at three months, not three weeks.
How long the kit lasts, and when to reorder
At one boswellia a day the kit runs about 60 days; at two a day, about 30. The magnesium and neem run about 60 days each.
Every product in this kit is also sold on its own, and most are available as a Monthly Plan — one, two or three months at a time, at a lower price per pack. Once you know what you are keeping, that is usually the cheaper way to continue.
Nutrition information
Contains magnesium. Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function, to the maintenance of normal bones, to normal energy-yielding metabolism, and to electrolyte balance.
Under UK law we may only state nutrition and health claims that appear on the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims Register, and those claims belong to the specific nutrient rather than to the product as a whole. Where a kit contains no nutrient with an authorised claim, we say so rather than implying something we are not permitted to state. Everything else on this page describes what the ingredients are, where they come from and how they are traditionally prepared.
The ingredients, in detail
Boswellia and Curcumin (Boswellia serrata + Curcuma longa)
Part used: Gum resin + rhizome. When it is taken: Morning and evening, with food.
Boswellia serrata, known in Sanskrit as shallaki, is the Indian frankincense tree; the part used is the gum resin tapped from the bark. It is one of the oldest traded goods in the world and is paired here with turmeric.
Magnesium Glycinate (Magnesium bisglycinate)
Part used: Mineral, chelated. When it is taken: Evening.
Magnesium bound to the amino acid glycine. This chelated form is gentler on the stomach than magnesium oxide or citrate, which is why it is the form most people choose for a dose taken late in the day. Vegetarian capsule.
Neem, Turmeric and Black Pepper (Azadirachta indica)
Part used: Leaf. When it is taken: Morning, with food.
Neem leaf is intensely bitter, which is exactly why the tradition values it, and it is formulated here with turmeric and black pepper to balance the taste. The neem tree is planted across India and every part of it is used.
Questions people ask
What is shallaki?
The Sanskrit name for Boswellia serrata, the Indian frankincense tree. The part used is the gum resin tapped from the bark — the same substance traded as frankincense for thousands of years.
Should I take one boswellia a day or two?
Follow the recommended daily portion printed on the pack. Do not exceed it.
How is buying the kit different from buying the products separately?
You get exactly the same sealed retail packs — nothing is decanted or repackaged — for £8.97 less. You also get the routine and the 90-day plan above, which is the part most people actually want.
What if I miss a day?
Take it as normal the next day. Do not double up to catch up.
Can I take this alongside other supplements?
Usually, but check the labels for overlapping ingredients so you are not taking two of the same thing. If in doubt, speak to a pharmacist.
Can I take this if I am on medication?
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting any food supplement if you take prescribed medication, or if you are under medical supervision. We are not able to advise on interactions.
Where do these products come from?
All of them are made in India by established manufacturers and shipped to us in the UK. Each pack carries its own manufacturer, batch code and best-before date, which you can read on the pack when it arrives.
Is everything in the kit vegetarian?
Check each individual pack, which carries its own full ingredient list and allergen declaration. Capsule shells vary by manufacturer.
How is the kit delivered?
As separate sealed retail packs in one parcel, shipped from India to your UK address.
