Certified organic shatavari alongside a gentle chelated iron. Two products, two capsules, one moment in the day. This is the simplest kit we make and the easiest place to start.

How to take it, day to day
Morning
- Chelated Iron — 1 tablet with breakfast. Keep it away from tea and coffee, which reduce iron absorption — leave an hour either side.
- Shatavari — 1 capsule with breakfast or with your evening meal, whichever you will remember.
Timing conventions in Ayurveda are conventions, not rules. The single thing that matters most is taking it at the same time each day, because that is the routine you will actually keep. Always follow the recommended daily portion printed on each individual pack, and never exceed it.
Your 90-day course
We have written this kit as a course rather than a pile of bottles. The point of adding products one at a time is simple: if something does not agree with you, you know exactly which one it was.
- Days 1 to 7 — iron only. One tablet with breakfast, away from tea and coffee. Chelated iron is much better tolerated than the iron sulphate most people have had a bad experience with, but starting alone means you know how it suits you.
- Days 8 to 90 — add the shatavari. One capsule a day, with food. Time of day matters less here than consistency.
- Throughout — the tea and coffee rule. This is the one piece of practical advice that makes a real difference to how much iron you actually absorb. An hour either side of the tablet.
- Day 90 — review. Both products are available as Monthly Plans at one, two or three months at a time if you want to keep going without reordering every few weeks.
How long the kit lasts, and when to reorder
Both products run about 60 days at one a day, so the kit lasts roughly two months once you are on the full routine.
Every product in this kit is also sold on its own, and most are available as a Monthly Plan — one, two or three months at a time, at a lower price per pack. Once you know what you are keeping, that is usually the cheaper way to continue.
Nutrition information
Contains iron. Iron contributes to normal formation of red blood cells and haemoglobin, to normal oxygen transport in the body, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Iron also contributes to normal cognitive function and to the normal function of the immune system.
Under UK law we may only state nutrition and health claims that appear on the Great Britain Nutrition and Health Claims Register, and those claims belong to the specific nutrient rather than to the product as a whole. Where a kit contains no nutrient with an authorised claim, we say so rather than implying something we are not permitted to state. Everything else on this page describes what the ingredients are, where they come from and how they are traditionally prepared.
The ingredients, in detail
Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)
Part used: Root. When it is taken: Morning or evening, with food.
A climbing asparagus whose root is the part used. The Sanskrit name is usually translated as she who has a hundred roots. Certified organic. Shatavari is the herb the Ayurvedic tradition places at the centre of women’s practice, and it is currently the Ayurvedic herb attracting the most interest from Western formulators.
Chelated Iron (Iron bisglycinate)
Part used: Mineral, chelated. When it is taken: Morning, with food.
Iron bound to glycine. Chelated iron is better tolerated than iron sulphate, which is the form most people have had a bad experience with. Take it away from tea and coffee, which reduce absorption.
Questions people ask
Why does the iron need to be away from tea and coffee?
Tannins and polyphenols in tea and coffee bind iron and reduce how much of it you absorb. An hour either side of the tablet is the usual advice. Vitamin C alongside has the opposite effect.
Is shatavari suitable if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Speak to your doctor or midwife before taking any food supplement during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. We cannot advise on this.
How is buying the kit different from buying the products separately?
You get exactly the same sealed retail packs — nothing is decanted or repackaged — for £4.98 less. You also get the routine and the 90-day plan above, which is the part most people actually want.
What if I miss a day?
Take it as normal the next day. Do not double up to catch up.
Can I take this alongside other supplements?
Usually, but check the labels for overlapping ingredients so you are not taking two of the same thing. If in doubt, speak to a pharmacist.
Can I take this if I am on medication?
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting any food supplement if you take prescribed medication, or if you are under medical supervision. We are not able to advise on interactions.
Where do these products come from?
All of them are made in India by established manufacturers and shipped to us in the UK. Each pack carries its own manufacturer, batch code and best-before date, which you can read on the pack when it arrives.
Is everything in the kit vegetarian?
Check each individual pack, which carries its own full ingredient list and allergen declaration. Capsule shells vary by manufacturer.
How is the kit delivered?
As separate sealed retail packs in one parcel, shipped from India to your UK address.
